It doesn't matter if people are interested. It's about you taking your stuff and shouting out into the void.

BLANK WALL

May 13, 2010

This time I’m really facing a blank wall.  If this blank wall could talk, it would tell you of the agony I’m suffering in putting up this blog.  Had really nothing much in mind to write about!  What have I done that PSYCHE has left me so stone dried and desolate!  “Forgive me Lord, come back to my rescue and guide me again! Just for this one another time, please!”

That was my silent prayer everytime I’m in a dilemma or in a situation where and when nothing seems working out any better for me.

I used to repudiate that I am a moody person, and I am so sure I never was when I was younger.  But as I go further away from my past and younger days, I realize now and do admit that I am just a moody, pensive and inarticulate person so dependent on some sort of magical mirth and thistles in order to drive my senses into doing anything worth good to do.

I’m really down this time, particularly, because my presidential and veep bets didn’t make it on the top row.

But anyway, I’m old enough to realize too, that those were just one of those things that make life worth living.  Defeat is not in itself an end to a career or anything but rather the beginning of an intense or heightened drive to pursue more for the cause you’re fighting, and maybe working back a little more with caution as the need be, to find out where things went wrong!

But I do still have my full respect and admiration for Mr. Manny Villar, despite all odds, his initial outright conceding is still an integral part of his being a winner in his own rights.  Maybe it’s not just yet his appropriate time.

But so far, so good!  Our first automated election, except for some isolated cases, or was it really, turned out peaceful, orderly and fast with less anomalies or violent occurrences unlike in the past or yesteryears’ analog elections.

HAIL, HAIL, HAIL TO OUR NEW PRESIDENT, NOYNOY AQUINO!  And to his vice president - ROXAS or BINAY!  Because as of this writing, the race is still ongoing between these two!

Politics is surely a very hefty and rich area of interest which one will never drain out of things to write with gusto - - specially so if one possesses the guts or tendencies to run for public office.  Too bad, I don’t have the faintest or slightest inclinations to engage in that!  Fact is, I used to escape my Political Science subject in college and played billiard at a nearby joint instead.  So I really have not much head for it.

I’d rather talk about the birds and bees, flowers and trees than talk lengthily about politics.  My concern with politics is only up to and about my being a citizen of this republic, which no matter how banana it could get, I still owe my allegiance to it, and would die for it, if I have to.

Now, as if facing a proverbial blank wall, we just have to wish and rely on our new leaders’  honest and sincere governance that will truly initiate and implement beneficial changes for the common good and hopefully this time for our less fortunate countrymen.

And for our part, Citizens of the Philippines, let us not ask too much, but just enough to make us good, and let us do our share, no matter how minimal, in helping our GOD GIVEN LEADERS in building our nation becoming GREAT AGAIN!

Hi Tito Ed,

I read both of your recent blogs, and i thought that if there were more of these, hurled and read in the then vast sea of Filipino voters’ realm, the republic can only be better for it . Your ‘manok’ conceding defeat was the right thing to do and he’s a bigger man for it . Likewise, his gesture and your matching take on it, make me see sublime parallel beauty!

I like what you write, i like that you put yourself on the range and on the spot, i like that it pulses with real insights and sentiments that a reader can only come away humbly nourished. Tito Ed, you do wear sincerity on your sleeves! And it’s not even barong tagalog!

Tito Ed, I look forward to reading more writings, musings, atbp…..
Hello again to Tita Edna, Lee, Dexter and the brood!
